Note

• When the seat warmer switch is turned on with the ignition switched ON (engine on), the seat warmer system operates.

Simple Inspection

1.Place a cooling agent on the seat cushion (thermistor).

2.Operate the seat warmer switch to turn on the seat warmer.

3.Touch the seat cushion and the seat back to verify a temperature increase.

4.If a temperature increase cannot be verified, go to the resistance inspection. (See Resistance Inspection.)

Resistance Inspection

Driver-side

Front seat cushion

1. Switch the ignition to off.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)].)

3. Disconnect the driver-side seat warmer unit connector.

4. Inspect for continuity between the driver-side seat warmer unit connector terminal 6A—6B(without driver-side power seat) / 6A—1K(with driver-side power seat).

― If not as indicated in the table, replace the front seat cushion pad. (See FRONT SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

5. Measure the resistance between the driver-side seat warmer unit connector terminals 6C and 6D (without driver-side power seat) /2O and 2X (with driver-side power seat), and verify that the condition is as indicated in the table.

• If not as indicated in the table, replace the front seat cushion pad. (See FRONT SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

Front seat back

1. Switch the ignition to off.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)].)

3. Disconnect the driver-side seat warmer unit connector.

4. Inspect for continuity between the passenger-side seat warmer unit connector (short cord) terminal A—B.

― If not as indicated in the table, replace the front seat back pad. (See FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

Passenger-side

Front seat cushion

1. Switch the ignition to off.

3. Disconnect the passenger-side seat warmer unit connector.

4. Inspect for continuity between the passenger-side seat warmer unit connector terminal 6A—1K(without driver-side power seat) / 6A—6B(with driver-side power seat).

5. Measure the resistance between the passenger-side seat warmer unit connector terminals 2O and 2X (without driver-side power seat) /,6C and 6D (with driver-side power seat), and verify that the condition is as indicated in the table.
