Dual A/C control does not operate

Description
• Driver or passenger side temperature control dial does not operate individually
Possible cause
• Dash-electrical supply unit detects DTC
― Detects DTC and activates fail-safe
• Air mix door malfunction (driver or passenger-side)
― Sticking, not operating smoothly
• Air mix actuator malfunction (driver or passenger-side)
• Climate control unit malfunction

PERFORM DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT DTC INSPECTION
• Perform the dash-electrical supply unit DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT AIR MIX LINK PART
• Inspect the air mix actuator and air mix link.
― Is grease on link?
― Are links securely and properly installed?
― Are links free of obstructions and hindrances?
• Are the above items normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Apply grease or securely install to the correct positions.
If there is a malfunction in the air mix link, replace the air mix link.
Then perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT AIR MIX ACTUATOR
• Inspect the air mix actuator. (See AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSPECTION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)
• Is it normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the air mix actuator, then perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT AIR MIX DOOR
• Inspect the suspect side air mix door.
• Is the air mix door normal?
Yes
Replace the climate control unit, then perform the repair completion verification.
No
Remove the obstruction or replace A/C unit case on the suspected side, then perform the repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification
VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTION SYMPTOMS DO NOT RECUR AFTER REPAIR
• Can the temperatures for the driver-side and passenger-side be adjusted independently?
Yes
Troubleshooting completed.
Explain repairs to customer.
No
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
