DTC B1D19:79 [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT]

Description

CD player disc read error

Detection condition

  • With the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the connectivity master unit (CMU) detects a disc read error.

Fail-safe

Eject a disc.

Possible cause

CAUTION:

  • An unexpected load is applied to the CD player causing the output of a DTC due to the way the user uses the CD player, such as intentionally holding onto a disc when inserting it. The orientation of the disc should be checked before inserting it and it should be released from the fingers as soon as the disc begins to be read.

  • Disc malfunction or malfunction due to customer use method

    • Disc insertion direction mistaken

    • Disc scratched or dirty

    • Use of incompatible disc

  • CD player internal malfunction

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS DISC

  • After obtaining the customer’s consent, insert a disc that was not used when the malfunction occurred into the CD player.

  • Does the disc play normally?

Yes

System is normal. (Explain to the customer that there is a malfunction in the disc or malfunction due to the customer use method.)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS CD PLAYER DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY

Yes

Replace the CD player, then go to the next step.

(See CD PLAYER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED

  • Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
