DTC P130C:00 [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)]

NOTE:

  • To determine the malfunctioning part, proceed with the diagnostics from “Function Inspection Using M-MDS”.

Details On DTCs

DESCRIPTION

Pre-ignition detected

DETECTION CONDITION

Determination conditions

  • Pre-ignition is detected a few times continuously.

Preconditions

  • Engine coolant temperature: 80 °C {176 °F} or more*1

*1: Value can be verified by displaying the PIDs using the M-MDS.

Malfunction determination period

  • Not applicable

Drive cycle

  • 1

Self test type

  • CMDTC self test, KOER self test

Sensor used

  • Ion sensor

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

  • Not applicable

VEHICLE STATUS WHEN DTCs ARE OUTPUT

  • Illuminates the check engine light

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Fuel having octane rating lower than specified fuel is used

  • Carbon accumulated in combustion chamber

  • PCM malfunction

System Wiring Diagram

  • Not applicable

Function Explanation (DTC Detection Outline)

  • The PCM detects pre-ignition for each cylinder based on the ion sensor signal. If pre-ignition is detected continuously, even though pre-ignition is detected and engine output is restricted by the fuel injection control and the variable valve timing control, the PCM stores a DTC.

Repeatability Verification Procedure

  • Start the engine and warm it up completely (engine coolant temperature is increased to 80 °C {176 °F} or more).

  • Wait for 1 min (idle).

Function Inspection Using M-MDS

Diagnostic Procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1

PURPOSE: VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY

  • Verify related Service Bulletins and/or on-line repair information availability.

  • Is any related repair information available?

Yes

Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.

  • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

2

PURPOSE: RECORD VEHICLE STATUS AT TIME OF DTC DETECTION TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION

NOTE:

  • Recording can be facilitated using the screen capture function of the PC.

  • Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA/snapshot data on the repair order.

Go to the next step.

3

PURPOSE: VERIFY IF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT IS AFFECTED BY DTC OCCURRING FROM FUEL SYSTEM OR VARIABLE VALVE TIMING SYSTEM RELATED PART

Yes

Go to the applicable PENDING CODE or DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)].)

No

Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 1.

Troubleshooting Diagnostic Procedure

    Intention of troubleshooting procedure

  • Step 1—2

    • Drain the fuel, add the specified fuel, and verify the malfunctioning location.

  • Step 3—4

    • Verify that the primary malfunction is resolved and there are no other malfunctions.

Diagnostic Procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1

PURPOSE: VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSED BY ABNORMAL FUEL

Go to the next step.

2

PURPOSE: VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE WAS CORRECTED BY REFUELING

Yes

NOTE:

  • A malfunction has occurred because carbon has accumulated in combustion chamber.

Overhaul the engine and remove the carbon in the combustion chamber.

Go to the next step.

No

Go to Step 4.

3

PURPOSE: VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.

Go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

4

PURPOSE: VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
