\u2022 The engine oil solenoid valve switches the hydraulic transmission passage to the oil pump or oil pan to suppress unnecessary increases in the oil pump discharge pressure. The oil pump drive resistance is reduced by switching the hydraulic transmission passage based on the duty drive in accordance with the engine operation conditions.<\/div>\n

Operation<\/p>\n

\u2022 The hydraulic transmission passage leading to the oil pump is switched based on the duty signal from the PCM to control the hydraulic pressure applied to the oil pump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 The spool valve stays in the upper side by the spring force of the return spring when the engine oil solenoid valve is not energized. When the coil is energized by a signal from the PCM, electromagnetic power, which moves the plunger to the lower side, is applied and the spool valve moves to the lower side.<\/div>\n
\u2022 The PCM performs duty-control of a signal to the coil so that the spool valve is in the optimum position according to the engine operation conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During duty drive (during variable oil pump discharge)<\/p>\n

\u2022 The engine oil solenoid valve is driven based on the duty signal from the PCM and opens\/closes the hydraulic transmission passage from the oil gallery.<\/div>\n
\u2022 When the spool valve moves to the lower side, the oil passage to the oil pan closes and the oil passage to the oil pump from the oil gallery opens. As a result, hydraulic pressure is applied to the oil pump slide.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Because the oil amount flowing to the oil pump increases as the duty ratio from the PCM heightens and the oil passage to the oil pump from the oil gallery widens, the hydraulic pressure applied to the oil pump increases.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n\n\n\n
