\u2022 Handling a front seat equipped with a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings\/cautions in the Workshop Manual before handling the front seat (side air bag integrated). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM – US\/CANADA SPEC.]<\/a>.) (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM – US\/CANADA SPEC.]<\/a>.) \u2022 If the sliding mechanisms on both sides are not locked after assembling the front seat, the front seat will operate accidentally while the vehicle is driven, which could result in serious injury. After assembling the front seat, shake it up and down and verify that the sliding mechanisms on the both sides are locked. (With manual seat)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

\u2022 After the front seat has been removed, if the slider lever is operated and the front seat is reinstalled with the left\/right slide positions deviated, the adjuster unit could be damaged. After removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. (With manual seat)<\/div>\n
\u2022 Verify that there are no malfunctions in the forward\/back slide of the seat and in the adjuster unit after installing a front seat.<\/div>\n
\u2022 When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean cloth so as not to damage or dirty the seat.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

\u2022 When removing the front seat from the vehicle or putting it back in, it can be performed smoothly by removing the head restraint.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

1.Remove the head restraint.<\/p>\n

2.Slide the front seat to the positions where the bolts shown in the figure can be removed.<\/p>\n

3.Remove the bolts in the order of (1), (2) shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

4.Slide the front seat to the positions where the bolts shown in the figure can be removed.<\/p>\n

5.Remove the bolts in the order of (3), (4) shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

6.Remove the front seat belt lower anchor. (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

7.Switch the ignition off.<\/p>\n

\n

8.Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more<\/span>. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

9.Disengage the seat under cover tab from the front seat cushion frame.<\/p>\n

10.Move the front seat under cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove it.<\/p>\n

11.Disconnect the connectors.<\/p>\n

12.Remove the front seat.<\/p>\n

13.Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n

14.If the driver\u2019s front seat is replaced, perform the following procedure. (With position memory system)<\/p>\n

(1)Perform the position memory system memory clearing. (When replacing driver\u2019s front seat and position memory control module as a single unit) (See POSITION MEMORY SYSTEM MEMORY CLEARING<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n

(2)Perform the seat position initial learning. (See SEAT POSITION INITIAL LEARNING<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
