1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2.Remove the sensor cover. (See SENSOR COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

3.Remove the indicator unit. (See INDICATOR UNIT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

4.Disconnect the connector.<\/p>\n

5.Insert the remover tool into the gap between the rain sensor and the tab (1).<\/p>\n

6.Move the remover tool in the direction of the arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the tab (1) from the rain sensor.<\/p>\n

7.Insert the remover tool into the gap between the rain sensor and the tab (2).<\/p>\n

\n

8.Move the remover tool in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure and detach the tab (2) from the rain sensor.<\/p>\n

\n

9.Move the rain sensor in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and pull out the rain sensor from the bracket.<\/p>\n

10.Peel off the rain sensor protective sheet from the rain sensor.<\/p>\n

\u2022 If the rate at which the rain sensor reflects or transmits infrared light between the rain sensor and the windshield, or through the protective sheet, is changed, the rain sensor will determine that there is a problem in the rain detection function and stop the auto wiper system control. Be careful of the following when installing the rain sensor:<\/div>\n

\n
\u2015 Do not reuse the rain sensor protective sheet.<\/div>\n
\u2015 Do not touch the rain sensor lens, rain sensor protective sheet, and sensor installation area on the windshield with your fingers.<\/div>\n
\u2015 Verify that there are no air bubbles after installing the rain sensor.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

1.Wipe off any oil or dirt from the rain sensor lens and the windshield using a clean cloth.<\/p>\n

2.Peel off adhesive tape backing from a new rain sensor protective sheet.<\/p>\n

3.Adhere a new rain sensor protective sheet to the rain sensor lens.<\/p>\n
