4SD<\/p>\n

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2.Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

(1)Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(2)C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(3)Rear seat cushion (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(4)Rear seat back (See REAR SEAT BACK REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(5)Tire house trim (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n

3.Disconnect the rear window defogger connectors in the direction of the arrows in the order of (1), (2) shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

5.Remove the rear window molding by pulling it outward.<\/p>\n

7.Wind each end of piano wire around a bar.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Use a long sawing action to spread the work over the whole length of piano wire to prevent it from breaking due to localized heating.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

8.Secure one end of piano wire, and while pulling the other end, cut the sealant around the rear window glass.<\/p>\n
