\u2022 Handling the front seat (with side air bag module) improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the front seat (with side air bag module). 1.Switch the ignition off.<\/p>\n

2.Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more<\/span>. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

3.Remove the front driver\u2019s seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

4.Disconnect the connector. (See Connector Disconnect Note<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

5.Remove the screw.<\/p>\n

6.Detach the tab while lifting up the seat track position sensor in the direction of the arrow (1).<\/p>\n

7.Rotate the seat track position sensor in the direction of the arrow (2).<\/p>\n

8.Rotate the seat track position sensor in the direction of the arrow (3).<\/p>\n

\n

9.Remove the seat track position sensor (4).<\/p>\n

\n

10.Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n

\n

11.Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).<\/p>\n

\n

12.Verify that the air bag\/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s<\/span> and turns off.<\/p>\n

\u2022 If the air bag\/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light does not operate normally, refer to the on-board diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system. (See DTC INSPECTION<\/a>.)<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

1.Pull out the connector lock lever in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

2.Move the connector in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure to disconnect it.<\/p>\n
