\u2022 Do not allow clutch fluid to get on a painted surface. Clutch fluid contains properties which can dissolve the paint. If clutch fluid gets on a painted surface, rinse with water immediately, then wipe the area dry.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

2.Remove the following parts as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Air cleaner cover<\/div>\n
\u2022 Air cleaner element<\/div>\n
\u2022 Fresh-air duct<\/div>\n
\u2022 Air cleaner case<\/div>\n
\u2022 Air hose<\/div>\n
\u2022 Resonance chamber<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

3.Remove the battery. (See BATTERY REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.) (See BATTERY REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

4.Remove the battery tray and PCM component as a single unit. (See BATTERY REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.) (See BATTERY REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

5.Remove the clutch master cylinder using the following procedure. (See Clutch Reserve Hose And Clutch Pipes And Hose Installation Note<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

(1)Remove the clutch reserve hose while pressing the point indicated by the arrow in the figure.<\/dd>\n
\n\n\n\n

(2)Pull and disengage the clips of the connector area.<\/dd>\n

(3)Pull out the clutch pipes and hose connector straight to detach it.<\/dd>\n

(4)Remove the clutch pipes and hose.<\/dd>\n

\u2022 Do not scratch the seal surface.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Do not let foreign matter enter the clutch reserve hose, clutch pipe and hose, and transaxle. Otherwise, it could cause a malfunction.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

6.Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n

7.Bleed the air from the clutch system. (See CLUTCH FLUID REPLACEMENT\/AIR BLEEDING [C66M-R (US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Clutch Reserve Hose And Clutch Pipes And Hose Installation Note<\/p>\n

1.Verify that the O-ring is installed to the clutch pipes and hose connector.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The O-rings installed to the ends of the clutch pipe and hose connectors may fall off or remain on the receiver side when the clutch pipe and hose are disconnected. If the clutch pipe and hose are assembled without installing O-rings, clutch fluid could leak from the connection areas.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

2.Install the clutch pipes and hose.<\/p>\n

(1)Press in the clips in the connector areas.<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(2)Insert the clutch pipes and hose connector straight.<\/dd>\n
\n
\n
\n

\u2022 When the connector is engaged, a click sound is heard.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

(3)Install the clutch pipes and hose.<\/dd>\n

3.Insert the clutch reserve hose connector straight.<\/p>\n

4.Pull each engagement of the clutch reserve hose and clutch pipes and hose, verify that they are engaged, and then press all of them again.<\/p>\n
