1.Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n

\n

2.Release the electric parking brake.<\/p>\n

\n

3.Switch the ignition OFF while pressing the electric parking brake switch.<\/p>\n

\n

4.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

5.For the 4SD, remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

(1)Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(2)Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(3)Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

6.For the 5HB, remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

(1)Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(2)Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(3)Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(4)Trunk side upper trim (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

7.Partially peel back the trunk side trim to a position where the rear ABS wheel speed sensor connector can be disconnected. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

8.For the 5HB or 4SD (RH), remove the trunk side insulator. (See TRUNK SIDE INSULATOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

9.Remove the clip from the body.<\/p>\n

10.Disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor connector.<\/p>\n

11.Press the grommet tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure and detach them from the vehicle body.<\/p>\n

12.Press the grommet in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and press out the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor toward the outside of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

\n

13.Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

14.Remove in the order indicated in the table.<\/p>\n

\n

15.Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n

\n

16.After installation, verify that there is no twisting in the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor.<\/p>\n

1.Pull aside the mudguard and remove the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor.<\/p>\n
