\u2022 If the electric parking brake motor gear unit is reused, install a new O-ring.<\/div>\n
\u2022 If the electric parking brake was forced-released or the electric parking brake motor gear unit has a malfunction, do not reuse the electric parking brake motor gear unit. Always install a new electric parking brake motor gear unit.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

1.Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n

2.Release the electric parking brake.<\/p>\n

\n

3.Switch the ignition OFF while pressing the electric parking brake switch.<\/p>\n

\n

4.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Do not allow moisture, dust or foreign matter to penetrate the connector as it could cause the electric parking brake motor gear unit to malfunction.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

5.Unlock the electric parking brake motor gear unit connector. (See Electric Parking Brake Motor Gear Unit Connector Connection Note<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

6.Insert a flathead screwdriver into the location shown in the figure and disconnect the electric parking brake motor gear unit connector.<\/p>\n

7.Remove the bolts.<\/p>\n

8.Remove the electric parking brake motor gear unit by moving it up and down using your hand.<\/p>\n

9.Remove the O-ring.<\/p>\n

\n

10.Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n
