\u2022 The detection ability of the front side radar sensor has limitations. In the following cases, the detection ability may be lower and the system may not operate normally.<\/div>\n

\u2015 Snow, ice or mud adheres to the front side radar sensor on the front bumper.<\/div>\n
\u2015 Under bad weather conditions such as rain, snow and fog.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\u2022 Under the following conditions, the front side radar sensor cannot detect target objects or it may be difficult to detect them.<\/div>\n

Automatic configuration function<\/p>\n

\u2022 When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on) for the first time after the front side radar sensor has been replaced, the front side radar sensor reads the specification information sent via CAN communication from the body control module (BCM) and it performs automatic configuration.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

Radar emission angle correction function<\/p>\n

\u2022 The front side radar sensor corrects deviations in the radar emission angles, caused by installation tolerances after related part replacement, by implementing the radar aiming procedure. \u2022 Weight reduction has been achieved using hard plastic for the cover of the front side radar sensor.<\/div>\n
\u2022 The front side radar sensor has one integrated transmitter which emits 24 GHz radar and multiple receivers which receive reflected radio waves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Object detection<\/p>\n

\u2022 The front side radar sensor emits 24 GHz<\/span> radar waves from the transmitter integrated in the module, and receives the reflected radar waves using the multiple built-in receivers. The front side radar sensor calculates the distance between the object and vehicle based on the time required to receive the reflected radar waves that were emitted, and it calculates the angle (horizontal angle) of the object with the vehicle based on the phase difference between the arriving reflected waves received by the multiple receivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
