Operation<\/p>\n

\u2022 The driver-side knee air bag module operates (deploys) the air bag by activating the internal inflator.<\/div>\n
\u2022 The inflator operates in the following order:<\/div>\n
\n
\n
1. When an operation (deployment) signal is received from the SAS control module, the initiator ignites.<\/div>\n
2. The ignition of the initiator causes the combustion of the gas-generating agent which generates gas (1).<\/div>\n
3. The generated burnt gas shatters closure disc A (2).<\/div>\n
4. The burnt gas mixes with the charged gas (3) and shatters closure disc B (4).<\/div>\n
5. The mixed gas passes through the diffuser and is injected into the air bag.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n\n\n\n
