Because deceleration by the brake control is limited.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention3-label\">Note<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention3 list\">\u2022 The secondary collision reduction is a system for assisting driver operations. The BCM flashes the turn light (2) during a collision to caution the vehicles surrounding vehicle when it detects a certain amount of impact.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 While the hazard warning is operating, all the turn lights are flashed automatically. The system can be turned off by pressing the hazard warning light switch two times.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"id04150020070006\" id=\"id04150020070006\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"topic-title\">Brake control operation<\/p>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 Operation conditions (any of the following conditions must be met):<\/div>\n<dl>\n<dd class=\"list\">\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 The selector lever is in the P position. (ATX)<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 The parking brake is applied.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 The brake pedal is depressed. (the DSC HU\/CM monitors the brake fluid pressure)<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 When any of the operation conditions is met and the SAS control module detects a collision with another vehicle, it outputs a brake control request signal (3) to the DSC HU\/CM. (At the same time, it also outputs a hazard warning request signal to the BCM).<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 The DSC HU\/CM energizes the traction control and the stability control solenoid valves to switch the hydraulic circuits, and at the same time, it operates the pump motor to activate the pump so that the brake fluid pressure is lead to the caliper piston and the automatic brakes are operated (4). At the same time, the DSC HU\/CM outputs a brake light signal to the BCM (5).<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 While the brake control is operating, turns on the brake lights automatically (6).<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 Cancel condition (any of the following conditions must be met):<\/div>\n<dl>\n<dd class=\"list\">\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 The engine is stopped (the ignition is switched off).<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 <span>Approx. 1.5 s<\/span> has elapsed since the vehicle was stopped by the brake control.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 The accelerator pedal opening angle exceeds <span>approx. 20%<\/span>.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 Brake force greater than that generated by the brake control is input via the brake pedal.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<table class=\"figure-flame-non table-flame\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<table class=\"figure-non-float table-flame\" cellspacing=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"..\/assets\/ac8wzn00000231.png\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div class=\"figure-caption\">ac8wzn00000231<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention2-label\">Caution<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention2\">\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 The secondary collision reduction does not operate if the DSC system has a malfunction and the DSC control is inhibited.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 The secondary collision reduction may not operate in the case of a low-speed collision in which the air bags do not deploy.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 The secondary collision reduction may not operate if the vehicle speed exceeds approx. 50 km\/h {31 mph} because of the first collision.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 The secondary collision reduction does not operate if the components of the SAS control module and the DSC system are significantly damaged by the first collision.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ATTACHMENTS\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"attr VTOC_FILENAME content c2\"><!--\n                        am3zz041500n0000087 --><\/div>\n<div class=\"attr SIE_ID content c2\"><!--\n                        id041500200700.ent --><\/div>\n<p><!--\n*****************************\nERROR: Schema not found.
