BCM sends command to&nbsp;for rear side answer back<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4>REPAIR PROCEDURE<\/h4>\n<p>1. Verify customer concern.<\/p>\n<p>2. Reprogram the ECU using the Mazda Diagnostic And Repair Software (MDARS). Refer to &#8220;MDARS &#8211; ECU Reprogramming Procedure&#8221;.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BCM replaced &#8211; perform LFU software update.<\/li>\n<li>LFU replaced &#8211; perform BCM software update.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> Explain to the customer that the operation of the door lock switch at the liftgate has been modified so as not to lock the doors when the key fob is not close to the liftgate.<\/p>\n<p>3. Verify the repair.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MDARS ECU Reprogramming Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"c6\">ATTENTION: READ ALL CAUTIONS AND NOTES BEFORE AND AFTER REPROGRAMMING!<\/p>\n<p>CAUTION:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span class=\"c6\">A poor connection between the vehicle and M-MDS and\/or low voltage may result in abnormal termination and\/or data corruption. A low battery voltage may cause a&nbsp;reprogramming failure resulting in unexpected ECU replacement.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span class=\"c6\">Make sure that the following connections are firmly connected,&nbsp;then DO NOT touch the VCM and DLC cable to prevent&nbsp;noise and a poor connection.<\/span><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span class=\"c6\">Between the vehicle-side connector and the DLC cable<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span class=\"c6\">Between the PC-side connector and the USB port of the PC<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span class=\"c6\">When reprogramming with MDARS, power consumption and voltage fluctuation are greater than with IDS. Use the Power Supply mode in the Battery Management System (GR8) and connect an AC adapter to the PC to stabilize voltage fluctuation.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121360b.JPG\" class=\"c7\" \/>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121360c.JPG\" class=\"c8\" \/>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c6\"><strong>BEFORE REPROGRAMMING<br \/>\nNOTE:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"c6\">Turn off all electrical loads (i.e. A\/C blower, audio system, rear defogger and headlights).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"c6\">Perform a self-test and verify no DTCs are stored. If any DTCs are stored, repair the concern and delete the DTCs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"c6\">Disconnect any aftermarket accessories (non-genuine Mazda accessories).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"c6\">Terminate all programs other than MDARS on the PC. Running other programs may interfere with the MDARS performance, resulting in the PC freezing or other problems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"c6\">Perform reprogramming with a proper internet connection. When using a wireless network, make sure the connection is strong.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"c6\">Make sure to keep enough free space on the PC\u2019s hard disc. Insufficient free space (less than 1 GB) may result in the PC freezing during reprogramming.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n1. Connect the M-MDS to the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>2. Launch the Mazda Diagnostic And Repair Software (MDARS).<\/p>\n<div class=\"c10\"><span class=\"c9\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<p>3. Turn the ignition on, then click \u201cStart\u201d.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121452a.jpg\" class=\"c11\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4. Select the \u201ctoolbox\u201d tab.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121452b.jpg\" class=\"c12\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"c10\"><span class=\"c9\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<p>5. Select Work Support group.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121452c.jpg\" class=\"c13\" \/><\/p>\n<p>6. Select \u201cSoftware update\u201d, then click &#8220;Run&#8221;.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121452d.jpg\" class=\"c14\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"c10\"><span class=\"c9\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<p>7. Select the ECU to be reprogrammed.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121452e.jpg\" class=\"c15\" \/><\/p>\n<p>8. Confirm the current and new software versions, then click \u201cNext\u201d.<br \/>\n<strong>NOTE:<\/strong>&nbsp;When reprogramming the BCM, two softwares will be shown.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121452f.jpg\" class=\"c16\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"c10\"><span class=\"c9\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<p>9. Wait for the download, then click \u201cNext\u201d.<br \/>\n<strong>NOTE:<\/strong>&nbsp;When reprogramming the BCM, downloading will occur twice.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121452g.jpg\" class=\"c17\" \/><\/p>\n<p>10. Read the screen instructions, then click \u201cNext\u201d.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121452h.jpg\" class=\"c17\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"c10\"><span class=\"c9\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<p>11. Follow the instructions on the screen, then click \u201cNext\u201d.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"..\/assets\/SI121452i.jpg\" class=\"c18\" \/><\/p>\n<p>12. Wait for the reprogramming to complete.<br \/>\n<strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The progress bar will stay at 90% for 30 seconds.
