DESCRIPTION<\/h4>\n

Mazda has developed factory recommended scheduled maintenance services that support all major vehicle systems. Mazda recommends dealers follow the scheduled maintenance tables as cited in the vehicle-specific workshop manual or owner’s manual.<\/p>\n

Services performed outside of Mazda’s factory scheduled maintenance are not recommended. These services are unnecessary and create unneeded expenses for your customers.<\/p>\n

SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Refer to the applicable Workshop Manual or Owner’s Manual for vehicle -specific manufacturer scheduled maintenance.<\/p>\n

    • Transmission fluid flushing should only be performed when instructed by Workshop Manual or any other Mazda publication.<\/li>\n
    • Transmission fluid replacement is only recommended on B-Series Truck and Tribute and should be performed only at the mileage intervals specified in the owner’s manual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Transmission flushing is recommended if the customer accidentally adjusted the transmission level using an incompatible type of fluid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Transmission oil additives<\/td>\n\n
      \n
    • Transmission oil additives could (under certain conditions) lead to internal damage and void the warranty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Engine flushes<\/td>\n\n
      \n
    • Engine oil flushes are unnecessary.<\/li>\n
    • Contaminated oil from flushing machines may damage the engine and void the warranty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Engine oil additives<\/td>\n\n
      \n
    • These additives could (under certain conditions) lead to engine damage, prevent piston rings from sealing, and void the warranty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Engine cooling system flushing<\/td>\n\n
      \n
    • Mazda recommends coolant replacement starting at 100,000 miles of service on all models since 2008 (except B-Truck and Tribute). Prior to 2008, some vehicles have a replacement starting at 100,000 miles and 2 years on others, depending on the model.<\/li>\n
    • Flushing the coolant system is only recommended if the customer accidentally adjusted the coolant level using an incompatible type of coolant.<\/li>\n
    • Flushing machines that recondition? the existing coolant should never be used. This procedure cannot completely reverse the chemical deterioration that occurs to the coolant during use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Cleaning of injectors<\/td>\n\n
      \n
    • Cleaning injectors without an actual power related complaint from the customer, does not improve engine performance.<\/li>\n
    • Fuel injector malfunctions should only be repaired by replacement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Nitrogen for tires<\/td>\n\n
      \n
    • Compressed air contains approximately 80 percent nitrogen.<\/li>\n
    • There is no practical value added from filling tires with nitrogen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Brake fluid flushes<\/td>\n\n
      \n
    • Brake fluid flushing should only be performed when instructed by Workshop Manual or any other Mazda publication.<\/li>\n
    • Contaminated fluid from flushing machines may damage the brake system and void the warranty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
