\u2022 Performing the following procedures could cause an open circuit in the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness if it is pulled by mistake. Before servicing, disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor and set it aside so that the wiring harness will not be pulled by mistake.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

1.Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

2.Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n

\n

3.Release the electric parking brake.<\/p>\n

\n

4.Switch the ignition off while pressing the electric parking brake switch.<\/p>\n

\n

5.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

6.Disconnect the electric parking brake motor gear unit connector.<\/p>\n

7.Remove the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor and the bracket from the wheel hub component.<\/p>\n

8.Remove the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness and set it aside so that it does not interfere with the servicing.<\/p>\n

9.Remove the following parts: (See WHEEL HUB COMPONENT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [AWD]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

(1)Rear brake caliper component<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(2)Rear disc plate<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(3)Wheel hub component<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\n
(4)Dust cover<\/dd>\n
<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

10.Remove the following parts.<\/p>\n

(1)Floor under cover No.1 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n

(2)Floor under cover No.2 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n

11.Remove the three-way catalytic converter. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

12.Remove the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

13.Remove the rear drive shaft. (See REAR DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

14.Remove the protector.<\/p>\n

15.Remove the bracket.<\/p>\n

16.Support the torsion beam axle using a jack.<\/p>\n

\u2022 If the torsion beam axle falls off while it is removed\/installed, it may cause serious injury or death, or vehicle damage. Always use a jack when removing\/installing the torsion beam axle and verify that it is securely supported.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

17.Remove the rear coil spring. (See REAR COIL SPRING REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [AWD]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

18.Remove in the order shown in the figure.<\/p>\n
