Actuator inspection<\/p>\n

\u2022 If the lever position exceeds the operation range shown in the figure, the circuit in the actuator could be damaged. Always perform an actuator operation inspection with the lever movement within the range shown in the figure.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal.<\/p>\n

\n

2.Remove the rear vent actuator. (See REAR VENT ACTUATOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

3.Connect the rear vent actuator connector.<\/p>\n

\n

4.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n

\n

5.Operate the rear vent actuator using the simulation function. (See SIMULATION INSPECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

6.Verify that the rear vent actuator operation condition is as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

7.If it does not operate as shown in the figure, replace the rear vent actuator. (See REAR VENT ACTUATOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n<\/a><\/p>\n

Position sensor inspection<\/p>\n

1.Switch the ignition ON (engine on).<\/p>\n

\n

2.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n

\n

3.Display PID \u201cR_VENT_ACTAT_POS\u201d using the M-MDS. (See PID\/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

4.Operate the MODE switch or DEFROSTER switch.<\/p>\n

\n

5.Verify that the PID value conforms to the MODE switch or DEFROSTER switch operation.<\/p>\n

\n

6.If it cannot be verified, replace the rear vent actuator. (See REAR VENT ACTUATOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n
