\u2022 When disconnecting the connector, verify that there is no looseness, damage, deformation, corrosion, or poor connection of the connector terminals.<\/div>\n
\u2022 When inspecting the connector, touch it with a paper clip or similar thin pin without directly inserting a tester probe into the terminal.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

INSPECT CAN LINE IN BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR SHORT TO GROUND<\/div>\n
\u2022 Switch the ignition off.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>)<\/div>\n
\u2022 Disconnect the connector 2 which has body control module (BCM) terminals 2H and 2F.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:<\/div>\n
\n
\n
\u2015 Between body control module (BCM) terminal 2H (wiring harness side) and body ground<\/div>\n
\u2015 Between body control module (BCM) terminal 2F (wiring harness side) and body ground<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\u2022 Is there continuity?<\/div>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/div>\n<\/td>\n
\n
Go to the next step.<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/div>\n<\/td>\n
\n
Replace the body control module (BCM) because there is a short to ground in the body control module (BCM).<\/div>\n

INSPECT CAN LINE IN DSC HU\/CM FOR SHORT TO GROUND<\/div>\n
\u2022 Disconnect the DSC HU\/CM connector.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:<\/div>\n

\u2015 Between DSC HU\/CM terminal AQ (wiring harness side) and body ground<\/div>\n
\u2015 Between DSC HU\/CM terminal AN (wiring harness side) and body ground<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\u2022 Is there continuity?<\/div>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/div>\n<\/td>\n

Replace the DSC HU\/CM because there is a short to ground in the DSC HU\/CM.<\/div>\n

INSPECT CAN LINE IN PCM FOR SHORT TO GROUND<\/div>\n
\u2022 Disconnect the PCM connector.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:<\/div>\n

\u2015 Between PCM terminal 2M (wiring harness side) and body ground<\/div>\n
\u2015 Between PCM terminal 2N (wiring harness side) and body ground<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
\u2022 Is there continuity?<\/div>\n<\/td>\n
\n
Yes<\/div>\n<\/td>\n
\n
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the PCM and DSC HU\/CM and body control module (BCM) because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/div>\n<\/td>\n
\n
Replace the PCM because there is a short to ground in the PCM.<\/div>\n
