Actuator inspection<\/p>\n

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2.Remove the air mix actuator. (See AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)]<\/a>.)(See AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3.Connector the air mix actuator connector.<\/p>\n

\n

4.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n

\n

5.Operate the air mix actuator using the simulation function. (See SIMULATION INSPECTION<\/a>.)(See SIMULATION TABLE [DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

6.Verify that the air mix actuator operation condition is as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

7.If it does not operate as shown in the figure, replace the air mix actuator. (See AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)]<\/a>.)(See AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Position sensor inspection<\/p>\n

1.Switch the ignition ON (engine on).<\/p>\n

\n

2.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n

\n

3.Display PID \u201cAIR_MIX_POS_L\u201d using the M-MDS. (See PID\/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION<\/a>.)(See PID\/DATA MONITOR TABLE [DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

4.Operate the temperature control dial.<\/p>\n

\n

5.Verify that the PID value conforms to the temperature control dial operation.<\/p>\n

6.If it cannot be verified, replace the air mix actuator. (See AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)]<\/a>.)(See AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n
