Otherwise, the DSC HU\/CM could be damaged.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 When disconnecting the brake hose from the rear brake caliper, always plug and seal the rear brake caliper so that brake fluid does not leak.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 A new rear brake caliper has been plugged sealing off the brake fluid. For this reason, remove the plug of the rear brake caliper directly before installing the rear brake caliper to the vehicle. Other than for this, do not remove the plug of the rear brake caliper.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention3-label\">Note<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention3\">\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 When in maintenance mode, the clearance between the disc pad and the disc plate expands.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 When the maintenance mode is completed, perform the electric parking brake automatic adjustment.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 With the electric parking brake automatic adjustment, the electric parking brake motor gear unit operation time is longer than normal.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p class=\"list\">1.Switch to the maintenance mode. (See <a href=\"SM2335192\">MAINTENANCE MODE<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">2.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See <a href=\"SM2565818\">NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">3.Remove the wheel and tire. (See <a href=\"SM2334988\">WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention2-label\">Caution<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention2 list\">\u2022 Do not allow moisture, dust or foreign matter to penetrate the connector as it could cause the electric parking brake motor gear unit to malfunction.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p class=\"list\">4.Disconnect the electric parking brake motor gear unit connector. (See <a href=\"SM2335189\">ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE MOTOR GEAR UNIT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">5.Remove in the order indicated in the table.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">6.Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">7.End the maintenance mode. (See <a href=\"SM2335192\">MAINTENANCE MODE<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">8.After installation, add brake fluid, bleed the air, and inspect for fluid leakage.
