Function Inspection<\/p>\n

1.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n

\n

2.Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n

\n

3.Display the PIDs EVAP_PRES and FTP. (See PID\/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

4.Compare the voltage and fuel tank pressure indications for the PIDs EVAP_PRES and FTP with the standard in the table indicated below.<\/p>\n

Voltage Inspection<\/p>\n

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2.Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor connector. (See PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

3.Disconnect the quick release connector (fuel tank-side). (See QUICK RELEASE CONNECTOR (EMISSION SYSTEM) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.) (See PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

4.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n

\n

5.Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n

\n

6.Verify that the output voltage of the fuel tank pressure sensor (PID: EVAP_PRES) changes when pressure is applied from the quick release connector (fuel tank side).<\/p>\n
