HO2S Inspection<\/p>\n

1.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC\u20102.<\/p>\n

\n

2.Switch the ignition ON (engine on).<\/p>\n

\n

3.Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.<\/p>\n

\n

4.Access the following PIDs using the M-MDS. (See PID\/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

\n

\u2015 VSS (Vehicle speed)<\/div>\n
\u2015 ENG_RPM (Engine speed)<\/div>\n
\u2015 O2S_OUT_VOLT12 (HO2S output voltage)<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

5.Drive the vehicle and decelerate the engine speed by releasing the accelerator pedal fully when the engine speed is 3,000 rpm or more<\/span>.<\/p>\n

\n

6.Verify that the HO2S output voltage (PID: O2S_OUT_VOLT12) is 0.3 V or less<\/span> while decelerating as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Do not allow flammable objects such as the taping for bundling a wiring harness to come into contact with the exhaust manifold and silencer.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2.Disconnect the HO2S connector. (See HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3.Measure the resistance between HO2S terminals C and D.<\/p>\n
