Visual Inspection<\/p>\n

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2.Remove the MAF sensor\/IAT sensor No.1. (See MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR\/INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR NO.1 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

3.Visually inspect the MAF sensor for the following:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Damage, cracks, soiling<\/div>\n
\u2022 Rusted sensor terminal<\/div>\n
\u2022 Bent sensor terminal<\/div>\n
\n
\n
\u2015 If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the MAF sensor\/IAT sensor No.1. (See MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR\/INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR NO.1 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

Function Inspection<\/p>\n

1.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n

\n

2.Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n

\n

3.Display the PID MAF. (See PID\/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

4.Compare the voltage and flow rate indications for the PID MAF with the standard in the table indicated below.<\/p>\n
