\u2022 Remove and install all parts when the engine is cold, otherwise they can cause severe burns or serious injury.<\/div>\n
\u2022 When the battery terminals are connected, touching the vehicle body with generator terminal B will generate sparks. This can cause personal injury, fire, and damage to the electrical components. Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before performing the following operation.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2.Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

3.Remove the front splash shield (RH). (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

4.Remove the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

5.Remove the generator drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

6.Remove the drive belt auto tensioner. (See DRIVE BELT AUTO TENSIONER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n

7.Disconnect the wiring harness clips and fuel pressure sensor connector.<\/p>\n

Generator Removal Note<\/p>\n

1.Fully loosen the generator lower bolt and pull it outward until it contacts the body frame.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The generator can be removed without fully removing the lower bolt from the engine.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

2.Remove the generator upper bolt.<\/p>\n

3.Remove the generator together with the lower bolt from the engine.<\/p>\n

\n

4.Remove the generator from above the engine compartment.<\/p>\n

Generator Installation Note<\/p>\n

1.To facilitate the installation of the generator to the engine, grasp the spacer in the bolt installation hole using pliers and push it down to the nut side.<\/p>\n

2.Insert the generator lower bolt into the generator.<\/p>\n

3.Align the bolt installation holes on the engine and generator sides and temporarily tighten the generator upper bolt and generator lower bolt.<\/p>\n

4.Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the figure.<\/p>\n
