\u2022 Fuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. When installing the fuel hose, perform \u201cFuel Leakage Inspection\u201d described below.<\/div>\n
\u2022 A person charged with static electricity could cause a fire or explosion, resulting in death or serious injury. Before performing work on the fuel system, discharge static electricity by touching the vehicle body.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

Fuel Leakage Inspection<\/p>\n

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2.Remove the fuel pump relay.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Short the specified terminals because shorting the wrong terminal of the relay and fuse block may cause malfunctions.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

3.Using a jumper wire, short fuel pump relay terminals C and D in the relay and fuse block.<\/p>\n

4.Connect the negative battery terminal and operate the fuel pump. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

5.Verify that there is no fuel leakage from the serviced parts.<\/p>\n

6.In the case of fuel leakage, replace the following components and then recheck using the fuel leakage checking procedure.<\/p>\n
