Due to the following dangers occurring with a fuel spray, always complete the \u201cFuel Line Safety Procedure\u201d to prevent the fuel from spraying.<\/div>\n<dl>\n<dd class=\"list\">\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 Fuel may cause irritation if it comes in contact with skin and eyes.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 If fuel ignites and causes a fire, it may lead to serious injury or death, and damage to property and facilities.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 A person charged with static electricity could cause a fire or explosion, resulting in death or serious injury. Before performing work on the fuel system, discharge static electricity by touching the vehicle body.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention2-label\">Caution<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"attention2 list\">\u2022 Disconnecting\/connecting the quick release connector without cleaning it may possibly cause damage to the fuel pipe and quick release connector. Always clean the quick release connector joint area before disconnecting\/connecting using cloth or soft brush, and make sure that it is free of foreign material.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p class=\"list\">1.Complete the \u201cBEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION\u201d. (See <a href=\"SM2565730\">BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">2.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See <a href=\"SM2565818\">NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">3.Disconnect the quick release connector as shown in the figure. (See <a href=\"SM2565818\">NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n<dd><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p class=\"list\">8.Operate the fuel pump for <span>10 s<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">9.Measure the fuel line pressure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 If not within the specification, inspect the following:<\/div>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list-title\">If it less than the specification:<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<dd class=\"list\">\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 Fuel pump unit<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 Fuel line for restriction or leakage<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list-title\">If it exceeds the specification:<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<dd class=\"list\">\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 Fuel line restriction<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<div class=\"spec\">\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list-title\">Fuel pressure<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list\">475\u2014555 kPa {4.85\u20145.65 kgf\/cm <sup>2<\/sup>, 68.9\u201480.4 psi}<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"list\">10.Disconnect the negative battery terminal to stop the fuel pump. (See <a href=\"SM2565818\">NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">11.Measure the fuel hold pressure <span>after 5 min<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 If not within the specification, inspect the following:<\/div>\n<dl>\n<dd class=\"list\">\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 Fuel line leakage<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<div class=\"spec\">\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list-title\">Fuel hold pressure<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list\">300 kPa {3.06 kgf\/cm <sup>2<\/sup>, 43.5 psi} or more<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"list\">12.Complete the \u201cBEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION\u201d. (See <a href=\"SM2565730\">BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">13.Disconnect the <span>SST<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">14.Connect the quick release connector. (See <a href=\"SM2565734\">QUICK RELEASE CONNECTOR (FUEL SYSTEM) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">15.Complete the \u201cAFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION\u201d.
