Be careful not to burn yourself during removal\/installation of each component.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can very easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 Highly pressurized fuel may spray out if the fuel line is cut. Due to the following dangers occurring with a fuel spray, always complete the \u201cFuel Line Safety Procedure\u201d to prevent the fuel from spraying.<\/div>\n<dl>\n<dd class=\"list\">\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 Fuel may cause irritation if it comes in contact with skin and eyes.<\/div>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2015 If fuel ignites and causes a fire, it may lead to serious injury or death, and damage to property and facilities.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p class=\"list\">1.Verify that the battery is fully charged. (See <a href=\"SM2334856\">BATTERY INSPECTION [(US)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">2.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">3.Warm up the engine to the normal operating temperature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">4.Display the following PIDs using the M-MDS data monitor function. (See <a href=\"SM2565866\">PCM INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 RPM (engine speed)<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p class=\"list\">5.Perform the \u201cFuel Line Safety Procedure\u201d to remove the fuel pump relay. (See <a href=\"SM2565730\">BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">6.Remove the following parts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<dl class=\"list\">\n<dd>(1)Plug hole plate. (See <a href=\"SM2565639\">PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n<dd><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"list\">\n<dd>(2)Ignition coil\/ion sensors. (See <a href=\"SM2565824\">IGNITION COIL\/ION SENSOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))]<\/a>.)<\/dd>\n<dd><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"list\">\n<dd>(3)Spark plugs. Perform overhaul servicing.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"list\">\u2022 If the pressure does not increase, valve seizure, valve attachment malfunction, or pressure leakage from the cylinder head gasket might be occurring. Perform overhaul servicing.<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"list\">\n<dd>(6)If the measured value is high, it is possible that there is an error in the electric variable valve timing system.<\/dd>\n<dd><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p class=\"list\">8.Remove the compression gauge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<p class=\"list\">9.Install the following parts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"list\">\n<dl class=\"list\">\n<dd>(1)Fuel injector relay<\/dd>\n<dd><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl class=\"list\">\n<dd>(2)Spark plugs.
