Caution
• Performing the following procedures could cause an open circuit in the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness if it is pulled by mistake. Before servicing, disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor and set it aside so that the wiring harness will not be pulled by mistake.

1.Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

3.Release the electric parking brake.

4.Switch the ignition off while pressing the electric parking brake switch.

5.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)].)

6.Disconnect the electric parking brake motor gear unit connector.

7.Remove the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor and the bracket from the wheel hub component.

8.Remove the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness and set it aside so that it does not interfere with the servicing.

9.Remove the following parts: (See WHEEL HUB COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AWD].)

(1)Rear brake caliper component
(2)Rear disc plate
(3)Wheel hub component
(4)Dust cover

10.Remove the following parts.

(1)Floor under cover No.1 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)Floor under cover No.2 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

11.Remove the three-way catalytic converter. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))].)

12.Remove the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

13.Remove the rear drive shaft. (See REAR DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

14.Remove the protector.

15.Remove the bracket.

16.Support the torsion beam axle using a jack.

Warning
• If the torsion beam axle falls off while it is removed/installed, it may cause serious injury or death, or vehicle damage. Always use a jack when removing/installing the torsion beam axle and verify that it is securely supported.

17.Remove the rear coil spring. (See REAR COIL SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AWD].)

18.Remove in the order shown in the figure.

19.Lower the jack slowly and remove the torsion beam axle.

20.Install in the reverse order of removal.
