• If the fuel-filler lid cannot be opened due to a discharged battery or malfunctions in the electrical system, open the fuel-filler lid using the following procedure.

Without fuel-filler lid opener cable

1.Remove the following parts:

(1)Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

(3)Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.Partially peel the trunk side trim (LH). (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

3.Remove the trunk side insulator (LH). (See TRUNK SIDE INSULATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.Move the fuel-filler lid actuator lever in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.

With fuel-filler lid opener cable

1.Remove the following parts:

(1)Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

(3)Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.Partially peel the trunk side trim (LH). (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

3.Pull the fuel-filler lid opener cable and open the fuel-filler lid.

(2)Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

(4)Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(5)Trunk side upper trim (LH) (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.Partially peel the trunk side trim (LH). (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)].)

3.Remove the trunk side insulator (LH). (See TRUNK SIDE INSULATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.Pull the fuel-filler lid opener cable and open the fuel-filler lid.
