Outline

• To reduce the oil pump operation load applied to the engine, the PCM adjusts the engine hydraulic pressure to the appropriate pressure according to the engine operation conditions.
• The PCM performs duty control of the engine oil solenoid valve to variably adjust the engine oil discharged from the oil pump.

Operation

• The operation conditions for the engine oil variable control vary according to the vehicle conditions.


Output duty value determination

• The PCM determines the target oil pressure discharged from the oil pump according to the vehicle conditions, and controls energization of the engine oil solenoid valve to achieve the target oil pressure.
Calculation of target oil pressure
― Determines the target oil pressure based on the information such as the engine speed, charging efficiency *1, and engine oil temperature/engine oil hydraulic pressure.
*1:Charging efficiency is the ratio of the actual amount of intake air to the maximum air charging amount (mass volume) of the cylinder. This value increases proportionately to the increase in engine load.
