• Before removing the SRS air bag system-related parts, always disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min. or more to allow the back-up power supply to deplete its stored power. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM – US/CANADA SPEC.].) (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM – MEXICO SPEC.].)• Contact with the positive battery terminal could cause electrocution due to a short circuit and result in serious injury or death, or damage to vehicle parts. Do not contact the positive battery terminal when performing the procedure.

• With the battery connected and the ignition switched ON, or if servicing is performed for a long period (10 min or more) with the ignition switched off.
Negative Battery Terminal Disconnection
1.Switch the ignition off.
2.Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

• When tightening the negative battery terminal, tighten it to the specified torque. If it is not tightened to the specified torque, the battery charging/discharging may be affected.
