Remove the clutch cover. (See <a href=\"SM353139\">CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Perform the following procedure to inspect the clutch cover.<\/p>\n<p>              a. Measure the wear of the diaphragm spring fingers.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005171.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005171.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n                  <b>Clutch cover diaphragm spring fingers maximum depth<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>0.6 mm {0.02 in}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If it exceeds the maximum, replace the clutch cover.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>              b. Measure the flatness of the pressure plate with a straight edge and a feeler gauge.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM3UUW00002093.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM3UUW00002093.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n                  <b>Maximum clearance of flatness of the pressure plate<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>0.3 mm {0.01 in}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If it exceeds the maximum, replace the clutch cover.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>              c. Inspect the diaphragm spring fingers for the degree of uniformity in their high.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005172.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005172.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>                i. Install the clutch cover. (See <a href=\"SM353139\">CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>                ii. When checking the diaphragm spring fingers, mount a dial gauge on the cylinder block.<\/p>\n<p>                iii. Rotate the flywheel and check for misaligned diaphragm spring fingers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n                    <b>Clutch cover diaphragm spring fingers maximum height difference<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>1.0 mm {0.039 in}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If it exceeds the maximum, replace the clutch cover.
