After aligning the shaft and outer ring alignment marks, lightly tap the tripod joint area evenly using a hammer and urethane bar or equivalent, and insert the outer ring little by little while maintaining the shaft perpendicular.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When tapping the outer ring lightly using a hammer and urethane bar or equivalent, be careful not to scratch the roller area so as to prevent damage to the part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Be careful that dust and dirt do not get on the inside of the outer ring.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004765.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004765.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4. Release any trapped air from the boot by carefully lifting up the small end of the boot with a screwdriver wrapped in a clean rag.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not damage the boot. Verify that there is no grease leakage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the boot is deformed, it may not be possible to perform the full-length adjustment of the shaft.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AATJJW00009777.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AATJJW00009777.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            7. Verify that the drive shaft length is within the standard when the inside of the boot is at atmospheric pressure.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If not within the standard, repeat from Step 5.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0313001451x513\" id=\"id0313001451x513\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Boot Band (Differential Side) Assembly Note<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">WARNING:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Your hands could be injured while assembling the boot band. Therefore always wear gloves.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Apply rust prevention oil to the inside of the boot band.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Lock the boot band against rotation using an appropriate tool as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004766.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004766.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            3. Using a pair of pliers, grip the lever at the base (fulcrum point) and rotate it in the direction of the arrow.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not put the boot band back to its original position after bending it using pliers because it will damage the boot band.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004767.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004767.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4. Hold the bent lever using a hand and secure it temporarily by pinching the lock clip using pliers.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the lever springs back, press it back in no more 3 times to prevent damage to the boot band.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004768.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004768.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Lightly press the lock clip using a hammer so that the clearance of the lock clip is <b>1 mm {0.04 in} or less<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004769.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004769.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If there is any malfunction, replace with a new band.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            6. Verify that the clearance between the boot band and boot band lever is <b>1 mm {0.04 in} or less<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004770.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004770.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If there is any malfunction, replace with a new band.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            7.
