When removing\/installing the coil spring, always use the SST and be careful not to allow the coil spring to fly off.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the trunk end trim. (See <a href=\"SM356202\">TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. When working on the left side of the vehicle, remove the trunk covering. (See <a href=\"SM356204\">TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. When working on the left side of the vehicle, remove the partition board. (See <a href=\"SM356227\">PARTITION BOARD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove the trunk side trim. (See <a href=\"SM356203\">TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            6. When working on the left side of the vehicle, remove the fuel-filler pipe protector. (See <a href=\"SM352747\">FUEL-FILLER PIPE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            7. When working on the left side of the vehicle, remove the auto leveling sensor and the auto leveling sensor short cord as a single unit. (See <a href=\"SM356258\">AUTO LEVELING SENSOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM356278\">AUTO LEVELING SENSOR SHORT-CORD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            8. Remove the rear shock absorber and coil spring. (See <a href=\"SM352872\">REAR SHOCK ABSORBER AND COIL SPRING REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            9. Remove in the order indicated in the table.<\/p>\n<p>            10. Set the Rear shock absorber and the coil spring to the <b>SST<\/b> first, then remove the piston rod nut.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Install the rear shock absorber and coil spring to the <b>SST<\/b> according to the following procedures.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The coil spring may be damaged when installing the <b>SST<\/b> to the coil spring. Install the <b>SST<\/b> to the coil spring using a rag so that the coil spring is not damaged.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>              a. Set the <b>SST<\/b> attachments (tabs) to the positions shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00003896.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00003896.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>              b. Install the rear shock absorber and coil spring to the <b>SST<\/b> so that the coil spring is set to the position shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00003897.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00003897.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2. Compress the coil spring using the <b>SST<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the piston rod nut.<br \/>\n          <a name=\"id02140080270002\" id=\"id02140080270002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Coil Spring Installation Note<\/h4>\n<p>            1. Compress the coil spring using the <b>SST<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AR8JJW00002725.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AR8JJW00002725.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2.
