Turn off the engine and wait until it and the engine oil have cooled.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A vehicle that is lifted but not securely supported on safety stands is dangerous. It can slip or fall, causing death or serious injury. Never work around or under a lifted vehicle if it is not securely supported on safety stands.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Continuous exposure to USED engine oil has caused skin cancer in laboratory mice. Protect your skin by washing with soap and water immediately after working with engine oil.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If engine oil is spilled on the exhaust system, wipe it off completely. If you fail to wipe the spilled engine oil, it will produce fumes because of the heat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Remove the front crossmember under cover. (See <a href=\"SM356179\">FRONT CROSSMEMBER UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the oil filter using the commercially available, cup-type oil filter wrench ( <b>67 mm {2.6 in} diameter, 14 sided<\/b>).<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004236.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004236.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            3. Use a clean cloth to wipe off the mounting surface.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring of a new oil filter.<\/p>\n<p>            5. Tighten the oil filter according to the instructions on the package or side of the oil filter.<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n                <b>Tightening torque (reference value)<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>12\u201416 N\u00b7m {123\u2014163 kgf\u00b7cm, 107\u2014141 in\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>            6. Start the engine and confirm that there is no oil leakage.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If there is oil leakage, repair or replace the applicable part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            7. Inspect the oil level. (See <a href=\"SM352705\">ENGINE OIL LEVEL INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            8. Install the front crossmember under cover.
