Check the following:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>Connectors are not fully seated.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Wiring harnesses do not have full play.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Wires laying across brackets or moving parts.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Wires routed too close to hot parts.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>\n<p>An improperly routed, improperly clamped, or loose harness can cause a wiring harness to become pinched between parts.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The connector joints, points of vibration, and places where the wiring harnesses pass through the firewall and body panels are the major areas to be checked.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0103e680040002\" id=\"id0103e680040002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Inspection Method for Switch Connectors or Wires<\/h5>\n<p>            1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If engine starts and runs, perform the following steps during idle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            3. Access the PIDs for the switch you are inspecting.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Turn the switch on manually.<\/p>\n<p>            5. Slightly shake each connector or wiring harness vertically and horizontally while monitoring the PID.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the PID value is unstable, check for a poor connection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ACXUUW00002361.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ACXUUW00002361.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0103e680040003\" id=\"id0103e680040003\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Inspection Method for Sensor Connectors or Wires<\/h5>\n<p>            1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the engine starts and runs, perform the following steps during idling.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            3. Access the PIDs for the switch you are inspecting.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the engine starts and runs, perform the following steps during idle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            3. Access the PIDs for the switch you are inspecting.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Shake the sensor slightly with your finger.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the PID value is unstable or a malfunction occurs, check for a poor connection or a poorly mounted sensor or both.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0103e680040005\" id=\"id0103e680040005\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Inspection Method for Actuators or Relays<\/h5>\n<p>            1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If engine starts and runs, perform the following steps during idling.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            3. Prepare the output state control function for actuators or relays that you are inspecting.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Shake the actuator or relay with your finger for <b>3 s<\/b> after the output state control function is activated.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If a variable click sound is heard, check for a poor connection or a poorly mounted actuator or both, or the relay.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM5EZW00006537.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM5EZW00006537.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Shake the relays too strongly may result in open circuits.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0103e680040006\" id=\"id0103e680040006\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Water Sprinkling Method<\/h4>\n<p>If a malfunction occurs only during high humidity or rainy\/snowy weather, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Indirectly change the temperature and humidity by spraying water onto the front of the radiator.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If a vehicle is subject to water leakage, the leakage may damage the control module. When testing a vehicle with a water leakage problem, special caution must be used.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2 if you are inspecting sensors or switches.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the engine starts and runs, perform the following steps at idle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            3. Access the PIDs for the sensor or the switch if you are inspecting sensors or switches.<\/p>\n<p>            4. If you are inspecting the switch, turn it on manually.<\/p>\n<p>            5.
