{"id":8503,"date":"2017-06-08T04:12:56","date_gmt":"2017-06-08T04:12:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mazdaman.x10host.com\/sh13216\/"},"modified":"2017-06-08T04:12:56","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T04:12:56","slug":"sh13216","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hexorcism.com\/16ND\/sh13216\/","title":{"rendered":"SHIFT-LOCK SYSTEM"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"node node SERVICE_HIGHLIGHTS\">\n    <\/p>\n<div class=\"textleft\">\n<div class=\"attr CONTENT c1\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n          <link rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text\/css\" href=\"style.css\" media=\"screen\"><a class=\"prevPage\" href=\"SH13215\">&lt; Previous<\/a> &nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>2016 &#8211; MX-5 &#8211; Transmission\/Transaxle<\/h2>\n<p><a name=\"id051400149800\" id=\"id051400149800\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>SHIFT-LOCK SYSTEM<\/h3>\n<p><a name=\"id05140014980001\" id=\"id05140014980001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Purpose Function<\/h4>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The shift-lock system operates when the ignition is switched ON and the brake pedal is not depressed, and inhibits the selector lever from being shifted from the P position to other positions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the shift-lock cannot be released by the normal operation, it can be released manually by inserting a flathead screwdriver into the shift-lock release hole (emergency manual shift-lock release system).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id05140014980002\" id=\"id05140014980002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Construction<\/h4>\n<p align=\"center\">Wiring diagram<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUN00000938.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUN00000938.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"id05140014980003\" id=\"id05140014980003\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Operation<\/h4>\n<p><a name=\"id05140014980004\" id=\"id05140014980004\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Shift-lock Release Conditions<\/h5>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The shift-lock is released when all of the following conditions are met (except emergency manual shift-lock release system is operated).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>Selector lever is in P position<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ignition is switched to ON<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Brake pedal is depressed (brake light switch is on)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id05140014980005\" id=\"id05140014980005\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Shift-lock operation conditions (shift-lock release conditions not satisfied)<\/h5>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When the shift-lock release conditions are not met, the shift-lock operates (The selector lever cannot be moved to any position other than P).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Because there is no energization to the shift-lock solenoid at this time, the shift-lock solenoid is not energized.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>As a result, the lock slider is in the position shown in the figure and the movement of the guide pin in the downward direction is controlled by the lock slider.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For selector levers in which movement is controlled by the guide pin, the selector lever cannot be moved to a position other than the P position.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUN00001776.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUN00001776.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"id05140014980006\" id=\"id05140014980006\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Shift-lock release (Shift-lock release conditions are satisfied)<\/h5>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When the shift-lock release conditions are met, the shift-lock does not operate (The selector lever can be moved out of P).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>At this time, the shift-lock solenoid is energized because there is energization to the shift-lock solenoid.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>As a result, the lock slider moves in the direction shown by arrow (1) in the figure.
