2016 – MX-5 – Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

METER HOOD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/h3>\n

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2. Install the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Passenger-side scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

c. Passenger-side A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

e. Center panel No.2 (See CENTER PANEL No.2 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3. Lower the steering wheel to the bottommost position.<\/p>\n

4. To prevent scratches or damage to the A-pillar trim, center panel No.1 and the driver-side lower panel, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

5. To prevent damage to the upper column cover, spread a cloth at the position shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

6. Move the meter hood in the order of arrows (1), (2) and (3) shown in the figure and detach the clips and hooks from the dashboard.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

7. Remove the meter hood.<\/p>\n

8. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n
