2016 – MX-5 – Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

REAR BUMPER SLIDER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/h3>\n

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Trunk side trim (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

c. Rear combination light (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Rear splash shield (See REAR SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

e. Rear bumper stay (See REAR BUMPER STAY REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

f. Rear bumper retainer No.1 (See REAR BUMPER RETAINER No.1 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

g. Rear bumper (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL<\/a>.) (See REAR BUMPER INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3. Remove the screw.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

4. Remove the screw and the nut.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

5. While pressing the tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, move the rear bumper slider in the direction of arrow (2) and pull out the hook and pin.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

6. Remove the rear bumper slider.<\/p>\n

7. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n
