DTC U2005:86 [ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE]

Description

Error signal received from PCM

Detection condition

  • The adaptive front lighting system (AFS) control module received vehicle speed signal error from the PCM for 5 s or more with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).

Fail-safe

  • The swivel actuator is moved to the center.

  • The headlight leveling actuator is stopped at the position when the malfunction is determined.

Possible cause

  • DTCs are stored in the PCM.

  • PCM malfunction

  • Adaptive front lighting system (AFS) control module malfunction

VERIFY PCM DTCs

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)].)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS PCM DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY

Yes

Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

(See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

No

Go to Step 4.

3

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

Yes

Replace the adaptive front lighting system (AFS) control module, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

4

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED

  • Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
