EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]

EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]
NOTE:
-
Inspect the evaporator temperature sensor when it is installed to the A/C unit.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Passenger’s side scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Passenger’s side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Passenger’s side A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the screw.
4. Remove the side duct.
5. Remove the duct.
6. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
7. Switch the ignition ON (engine on).
8. Set the fan speed to MAX HI.
9. Set the temperature control to MAX COLD.
10. Set to the RECIRCULATE mode.
11. Turn the A/C switch off.
12. Close all doors and windows.
13. Wait for 5 min.
14. Switch the ignition off.
15. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
16. Disconnect the short cord connector.
17. Measure the temperature at the blower inlet.
18. Measure the resistance between the short cord connector terminals E and H.

If the resistance is not as shown in the graph, replace the evaporator and short cord. (See A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY.)
