STEERING WHEEL BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Handling the driver-side air bag module improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION. )
2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) 3. Remove the steering wheel. (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove the steering shift switch. (With steering shift switch) (See STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SJ6A-EL].)
5. Remove the steering wheel cover. (See STEERING WHEEL COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
6. Warm up the shaded area shown in the figure and soften the hard plastic area of the steering wheel using a heat gun.
7. Pull the part of the steering wheel bezel near tabs A and B and detach the tabs.
8. Warm up the shaded area shown in the figure and soften the hard plastic area of the steering wheel using a heat gun.
9. Pull the part of the steering wheel bezel near tabs C and remove the steering wheel bezel.
10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
