WHEEL HUB, STEERING KNUCKLE INSPECTION
Front Wheel Bearing Excessive Play Inspection
1. Remove the front brake hose bracket from the front upper arm. (See BRAKE HOSE (FRONT) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH SINGLE PISTON CALIPER].) (See BRAKE HOSE (FRONT) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH 4-POT OPPOSED PISTON CALIPER].)
2. Remove the front brake caliper component and suspend it in a place out of the way using a cable. (See FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH SINGLE PISTON CALIPER].) (See FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH 4-POT OPPOSED PISTON CALIPER].)
3. Remove the front disc plate. (See FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH SINGLE PISTON CALIPER].) (See FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH 4-POT OPPOSED PISTON CALIPER].)
4. Install the magnetic base and dial gauge as shown in the figure and measure the front wheel bearing axial excessive play.

If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the wheel hub. (See WHEEL HUB, STEERING KNUCKLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
