ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]
WARNING:
-
A hot engine can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.
ECT Sensor No.1
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
3. Disconnect the ECT sensor No.1 connector.
4. Remove the ECT sensor No.1 using the SST.
5. Install the ECT sensor No.1 using the SST.
6. Connect the ECT sensor No.1 connector.
7. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
8. Refill the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
ECT Sensor No.2 (U.S.A. and CANADA)
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Lift up the vehicle.
3. Remove the front under cover. (See FRONT UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
5. Disconnect the ECT sensor No.2 connector.
6. Remove the ECT sensor No.2 using the SST.
7. Install the ECT sensor No.2 using the SST.
8. Connect the ECT sensor No.2 connector.
9. Install the front under cover. (See FRONT UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
10. Lift down the vehicle.
11. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
12. Refill the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
