  • The daytime running light (DRL) system automatically turns on the daytime running light (DRL) while the vehicle is driven.

Personalization features (Except Canada)
  • The daytime running light (DRL) system can be switched between operable and inoperable (initial setting is On (daytime running light (DRL) illumination)). For details on the personalization features, refer to the [LIGHTING SYSTEM PERSONALIZATION]. (See LIGHTING SYSTEM PERSONALIZATION.)

Operation

Operation conditions
  • When the following operation conditions are met, the BCM activates the daytime running light (DRL) system.

    • Vehicle speed: 3 km/h {2 mph} or more (vehicle speed signal)

    • Ignition switched ON (engine on) (ignition switch position signal)

    • Parking brake: Released (parking brake switch signal)

    • Selector lever position: Except P position (selector lever position signal) (AT)

    • Light switch position: OFF, AUTO (auto light system not operated), or TNS (parking lights) (light switch signal)

Operation

1. When the operation conditions are met (1), the BCM sends (2) a daytime running light (DRL) on request signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.

2. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the daytime running light (DRL) on request signal, it turns the daytime running light (DRL) on (3).
