FUEL PUMP UNIT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]
Purpose, Function

The fuel pump unit supplies fuel in the fuel tank to the high pressure fuel pump.

Based on the control signal from the PCM, power is supplied to the fuel pump and operates by driving the fuel pump relay.
Construction

The fuel pump unit is located inside the fuel tank.

The fuel pump unit consists of a fuel pump, fuel filter (low-pressure) fuel filter (high-pressure), pressure regulator, and reserve cup.
Operation

The fuel pump is supplied power from the PCM control and suctions the fuel in the reserve cup. Fuel is filtered through the fuel filter (low-pressure) and fuel filter (high-pressure). After filtering, fuel pressure is adjusted by the pressure regulator and pumped to the high pressure fuel pump.
