LEAVING HOME LIGHT SYSTEM

Outline

  • When the door unlock operation is performed using the remote transmitter with the ignition switched off and the light switch in the HEAD or TNS (parking lights) position*1, the leaving home light system turns on the headlights LO and TNS (parking lights) for a specified time.

  • When approaching the vehicle in a parking lot where the area surrounding the vehicle is dark, the system is used for assuring visibility at the front of the vehicle by turning the headlights LO and TNS (parking lights) on.

*1
For the headlight LO and TNS (parking lights) illumination conditions with the ignition switched off, refer to the [EXTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM]. (See EXTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM.)

Function

Leaving home light off timer function
  • When the BCM receives a door unlock request signal from the remote transmitter with the light switch in the TNS (parking lights) or HEAD position and the ignition switched off, it turns the headlights LO and the TNS (parking lights) on and operates the leaving home light off timer.

  • When the time on the leaving home light off timer (30 s) has elapsed, the BCM turns the headlights LO and the TNS (parking lights) off.*2

  • When the BCM receives a door lock request signal from the remote transmitter during leaving home light off timer operation, it turns the headlights LO and the TNS (parking lights) off.*2

*2
If the light switch is in the TNS (parking lights) position, the TNS (parking lights) is not turned off.

Personalization features
  • The leaving home light system can be switched between operable and inoperable (initial setting is On). For details on the personalization features, refer to the [LIGHTING SYSTEM PERSONALIZATION]. (See LIGHTING SYSTEM PERSONALIZATION.)

NOTE:

  • The BCM disables the leaving home light system control during the auto light off timer illumination time count.

Operation

  • The leaving home light function operates when all of the following conditions are met.

    • Leaving home light operation conditions

    • IG1 relay is off (ignition is switched off)

    • Light switch at TNS (parking lights) or HEAD position

    • Door unlock request signal is received by remote transmitter

    • Not during auto light off timer illumination time count

Light switch at HEAD position
  • When the unlock button on the remote transmitter is pressed, the start stop unit detects (1) a door unlock request signal. For details on the door lock/unlock operation using the remote transmitter, refer to the [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM]/[ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM]. (See KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM.) (See ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM.))

  • The start stop unit sends (2) the door unlock request signal and the light switch signal to the BCM via CAN communication.

  • When all of the operation conditions are met, the BCM sends (3) the TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO on request signals to the electrical supply unit (ESU) and operates the leaving home light off timer.

  • When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO on request signals, it turns the TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO on (4).

  • After the time on the leaving home light off timer has elapsed, the BCM stops the TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO on request signals.

  • When the electrical supply unit (ESU) no longer receives the TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO on request signals, it turns the TNS (parking lights) and headlights LO off (5).
