HOOD

Purpose, Function

• A lateral frame structure has been adopted for the hood to reduce injury to pedestrians in a collision.

Construction

• The lateral frame structure has the characteristic in which the applied impact can be transmitted to a wide area in a short period of time, and with the adoption of this lateral frame structure to the inner hood, impact to the pedestrian’s head at the limited space on the lower part of the hood can be absorbed.

• Weight reduction has been achieved by adopting slits to the inner hood.
